Why did you join PATA?
As a leading Saudi institute dedicated to excellence in hospitality and tourism education, we strongly believe in the value of global collaboration. PATA represents a network of distinguished institutions committed to advancing hospitality and tourism across the Asia Pacific region. Joining PATA allows us to connect with like-minded partners, benefit from shared best practices and emerging industry trends, and provide our trainees with valuable international exposure, including opportunities for exchange and cross-cultural learning. We also recognize the Asia Pacific region as a global leader in tourism and hospitality excellence, aligning closely with our vision and aspirations.
How does your organisation align with PATA’s new vision of a meaningful Pacific Asia tourism economy?
HTMi Saudi Arabia aligns closely with PATA’s vision of fostering a meaningful tourism economy through its commitment to developing a highly skilled national workforce in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. Our programs are designed to meet international standards while responding to local market needs. Through strong industry partnerships, practical training, and a focus on sustainability and service excellence, we contribute to building a resilient and future-ready tourism sector. This vision is reflected in our day-to-day operations through hands-on training, industry engagement, and continuous curriculum development aligned with global trends.
What recent trends or initiatives would you like to share with the PATA network?
One of our key recent initiatives is the launch of a pioneering apprenticeship-style education model in close collaboration with two major international hotel chains. This program is designed as a fully vocational pathway in:
International Hospitality and Tourism Management
International Culinary Arts Management
The program integrates academic learning with structured on-the-job training, including progressive responsibilities within the hotel and departmental rotations.
As part of this model, the final stage of training before full employment within the assigned hotel is conducted in Switzerland, where trainees complete advanced academic studies alongside a final research dissertation focused on the specific operations of the assigned hotel.
This initiative is supported and funded by the Saudi Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF), reflecting a strong and impactful public-private partnership dedicated to developing a highly skilled, industry-ready Saudi workforce aligned with both national priorities and international hospitality standards.
