3 October 2025, Thailand - Candela is proud to announce a landmark agreement with Seudamgo by Leopard Transportation Co., Ltd. for the delivery of 10 Candela P-12 electric hydrofoil ferries to operate between mainland Trat and Koh Kood, one of Thailand’s most pristine island destinations.

Signed at the SX Sustainability Expo in Bangkok, the agreement marks the first introduction of Candela’s P-12 fleet in Thailand and South-East Asia. The vessels will replace conventional gasoline-powered speedboats, eliminating emissions, wakes, and noise while safeguarding the island’s fragile environment.

Flying on hydrofoils, the P-12 consumes up to 80% less energy than traditional ferries, produces zero emissions, and enables a whisper-quiet, seasickness-free passenger experience. With premium interiors and fast travel times, the new fleet will set a new standard for sustainable and comfortable island transport.

This partnership highlights Thailand’s potential to become a leader in sustainable waterborne mobility, leveraging its vast network of islands and waterways. Candela is committed to supporting this transformation from its regional office in Bangkok, ensuring cleaner, more efficient transport for communities and visitors alike.
