Discova Achieves B Corp Certification, Turning Years of Purpose-Led Action Into Measurable Impact

Discova is proud to announce that we are now a certified B Corporation. This certification places us on an esteemed list of global companies that meet a high standard of social and environmental impact and use the power of business to benefit people, communities, and the planet.

According to Natalie Vine, our Chief People and Purpose Officer, our year-long B Corp™ certification process wasn't just about ticking boxes; it challenged organisations to prove what they say they do and, more importantly, demonstrate the impact behind it. During this time, we realised many of the certification requirements were already embedded in Discova’s DNA.

“We’ve been doing a huge amount of good work in our communities, supporting our people, and driving responsible business practices for years. The challenge wasn’t necessarily doing the work; it was proving it. In many cases, our practices hadn’t been formally documented, incorporated into policies, or consistently tracked and measured,” she says.

So how did we overcome it? Natalie and her team had to undergo a lot of research, track down information, document processes, and have countless conversations with stakeholders across the business. They had to capture years of work and turn it into evidence that could be assessed and verified. It was an arduous but important way to learn the significance of measurement, accountability, and documenting the positive impact we create every day.

Looking back at Discova’s B Corp™ journey, Natalie adds that she is most proud of how deeply we care for our people and our communities who have always been at the heart of Discova.

She informs, "Our success is built on empowering local talent and creating opportunities for people to grow and lead. I’m also proud of how we champion female leadership, invest in staff training and development, and support education and infrastructure projects that help uplift communities. These aren’t initiatives we introduced for B Corp™; they’re part of who we are and what we’ve been doing for years. This is the kind of work that not only makes me proud, but that so many people across Discova are proud to be part of.”

With our recertification due in three years, we have already started looking at areas where we could improve and have a bigger impact. Natalie feels that from an environmental perspective, our supply chain will probably always be one of our biggest opportunities for improvement. It’s an area where we can influence outcomes, but we don’t have direct control. That means continuing to work closely with our suppliers and partners, encouraging better practices, and finding ways to reduce our collective impact.

"Ultimately, the assessment reinforced that we’re on the right path, while also giving us a clear roadmap for where we can keep improving. That’s what I love about B Corp™. It’s not about reaching a finish line; it’s about continually striving to do better," she says.

Finally, this prestigious certification gives our people, partners, and guests confidence that we are committed to transparency, accountability, and creating immersive journeys that enrich guests as well as the communities that host them.

Natalie asserts, “We won’t always get everything right, and that’s okay. What matters is that we are willing to measure our impact, talk about it openly, and keep improving. For me, B Corp™ isn’t about being perfect; it’s about striving to be better every year and creating a positive impact for the people and communities we work with.”
