WHY JOIN PAS 2020?

The PATA Annual Summit brings together international thought leaders, industry shapers and senior decision-makers who are professionally engaged with the Asia Pacific region. The Summit embraces a global forum for enhancing the sustainable growth, value and quality of tourism.

HOW TO GET THERE


Ras Al Khaimah is easily accessible via a 45-minute drive from Dubai International Airport.

Travel times and distances to Ras Al Khaimah City:

Dubai International Airport – 45 minutes, 85 kilometers
RAK International Airport – 20 minutes, 18 kilometers
Abu Dhabi International Airport – 2 hours and 30 minutes, 250 kilometers
Sharjah International Airport – 35 minutes, 60 kilometers
Oman, Mussandam Border – 30 minutes, 40 kilometers

For those visiting from Dubai, you could also try Seawings – a luxurious seaplane experience that also offers a tour around the vast landscapes of Ras Al Khaimah.

AIRPORT TRANSFER


Airport Transfer

RAK TDA is pleased to provide complimentary airport transfer for all registered delegates between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and PAS 2020 official hotels.
 

Arrival transfer

Arrival transfer service will be available from March 30-April 1 at terminal 1 and 3 of the Dubai International Airport (DXB).  The service will be based on flight details submitted to PATA at Events@PATA.org no later than March 16, 2020.  Delegates arriving at DXB on similar flight schedules will be grouped for the same bus transfer. After Customs Clearance there will be transfer staff holding PAS 2020 signage to facilitate your transfer. It takes approximately 45 minutes from DXB to Ras Al Khaimah.
Delegates who fail to submit flight details within the above deadline and/or staying at non-official hotels will be required to arrange their own transfer.
 

Departure Transfer

Departure transfer service will be available from April 3-5.  Delegates are required to confirm their transfer at the PAS 2020 hospitality desk when they arrive at the event. Delegates departing to DXB on similar flight schedules will be grouped for the same bus transfer.
Delegates who fail to confirm their departure transfer and/or staying at non-official hotels will be required to arrange own transfer.

Pearl Farm Tour

The Suwaidi Pearls Farm was established in 2005 by prominent Emirati Abdulla Al Suwaidi, and is the first farm of its kind in the Gulf region. The farm cultivates the Pinctada Radiata, otherwise known as the Gulf pearl oyster, using locally sourced mollusks that live in the natural creek in Al Rams.

Abdulla Al Suwaidi’s Family, Al Suwaidi’s is intrinsically linked to the
history of pearling era in the Gulf, dating back to 12th and 13th centuries, and belonging to the Julfar dynasty, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. The family background traces back to life in the Gulf region that has been entwined with the jewel of the ocean for over 7000 years. His ancestors carried on with pearling for generations leading finally to the 20th century with his grandfather Mohammed Bin Abdulla Al- Suwaidi as being one of the last remaining pearl divers of the Al Suwaidi legacy.

Jebel Jais Flight – World’s Longest Zip Line

Ras Al Khaimah’s Jebel Jais – the highest mountain in the UAE, is home to the world’s longest zip line……a bucket list attraction for the UAE and the world.

The zip line propels the UAE’s most northern emirate into the major leagues of global adventure tourism and cements Jebel Jais as the region’s leading active adventure tourism destination. Thrill-seekers and adrenaline junkies will travel at speeds of up to 120kph to 150kph at a height of 1,680 metres above sea level on top of Jebel Jais mountain.

You will be fitted with a special harness for the adventure, with the longest flight itself taking approximately two to three minutes. Once completed, you will finish the bucket list flight on a suspended landing platform where you will be transferred to a second line to complete your journey back to the ground.

Jebel Jais – Jais Sky Tour

Adventure meets serenity at the Jebel Jais Zipline Tour!

Fly over the awe-inspiring cliffs and canyons of Jebel Jais, as you zip from platform to platform in this unique experience. Covering a total distance of 5 KM via a series of 7 ziplines, ranging from 337M to just over 1KM, the Jebel Jais Zipline Tour will give you a panoramic, bird’s eye view of the towering Hajar mountains. Navigate your way through the sky averaging speeds of 60 KMPH and find yourself at the UAE’s highest sky bridge, 1250m above sea level. Pause to take a photograph before you walk across the length of 15m bridge and continue the last part of your zipline journey.

City Tour

You will be shown Ras Al Khaimah’s historical highlights. This excursion will impress you with the rich cultural heritage of the most northern emirate, including Dhayah fort, the only left fort built on a hill with its unique geographical location, to the national museum, the Mohamed Bin Salim Mosque and the unique Al Suwaidi Pearl Farm.

Dress code: Casual dress code is fine. We recommend guests to dress modestly (Covering shoulders, upper arms and legs above the knee), particularly in public places like museums, souks, shopping malls, etc. Clothing should not be transparent, indecently exposing parts of the body or displaying offensive pictures or slogans. Always good to have some sunscreen handy during the tour as well.
