Emily Wang is Director of Overseas Marketing at the Sanya Tourism Board, where she leads international marketing strategy and global market development for one of China’s fastest-growing tourism destinations. With nearly 12 years of experience in the culture and tourism sector, she specializes in international air connectivity, destination branding, and overseas market expansion.

In 2025, Ms. Wang played a key role in advancing Sanya’s transformation into an international tourism consumption hub as part of the Hainan Free Trade Port initiative. She has been instrumental in expanding international air routes, opening new source markets, and strengthening Sanya’s global tourism presence.

Under her leadership of Overseas Marketing at the Sanya Tourism Board, Sanya achieved record growth in inbound tourism, with overnight international arrivals reaching 1.06 million, a 41.4% year-on- year increase, and inbound tourism revenue rising to USD 934 million, up 66.7%. Major markets, including Russia, have not only recovered but surpassed pre-2019 levels.
