Mohamed Awadh Ayaz

Deputy Minister, Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation of the Maldives

Mohamed Awadh Ayaz is a Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation of the Maldives. Since April 2026, he has been leading the Destination Management Division, where he oversees the planning and implementation of national destination management strategies focused on enhancing visitor experience and promoting sustainable tourism development. In this role, he works closely with the Visit Maldives Corporation and key industry stakeholders to advance destination development, marketing, service delivery, tourism infrastructure, and cross-agency coordination. Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Awadh served as Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation from November 2023 to April 2026.
