Airport and Railway Station Visit 

 
 

Punjab, India, 27 September 2025 – On the occasion of World Tourism Day, PATA India Chandigarh University Student Chapter organized an “Airport and Railway Station Visit” at Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, Chandigarh, and Chandigarh Railway Station.

Overview

To mark World Tourism Day 2025, students from Chandigarh University under the PATA Student Chapter undertook a practical learning initiative by visiting two major transportation hubs — Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, Chandigarh, and Chandigarh Railway Station. The objective of the visit was to interact directly with travelers, understand their experiences, and gather insights into the challenges and expectations of tourists while traveling.

 
 

 Highlights of the Session

 • Interactive Field Visit: Students engaged with domestic and international tourists at both the airport and railway station, asking about their travel experiences, journey satisfaction, and suggestions for improving tourism facilities.

• Theme: In alignment with World Tourism Day 2025, the focus was on understanding the tourist perspective and promoting the theme of sustainable and inclusive travel.

• Tourist Interaction: Participants collected valuable feedback on travel convenience, cleanliness, accessibility, and service quality, providing an opportunity to bridge classroom learning with real-world observation.

• World Tourism Day Wishes: Students greeted and wished travelers a “Happy World Tourism Day,” spreading positivity and awareness about the significance of travel in fostering global connections.

• Learning Experience: The visit offered students hands-on exposure to the tourism environment, enhancing their understanding of traveler needs and behavior.

• Media Coverage: The media team documented moments from the visits, capturing meaningful interactions and student participation.

 
 

Participation

The event saw active involvement from PATA ICUSC members and students from the Department of Tourism and Hospitality. Their enthusiastic interactions with travelers reflected curiosity, professionalism, and a genuine passion for the field of tourism. Both tourists and travel staff appreciated the students’ initiative and the spirit with which they celebrated World Tourism Day.
Conclusion

The “Airport and Station Visit” organized on World Tourism Day 2025 successfully achieved its goal of connecting students with real-time tourism experiences. The initiative not only allowed students to learn directly from travelers but also strengthened PATA ICUSC’s commitment to experiential learning and tourism awareness.

SUCCESS METRICS

The visit fostered experiential learning by bridging theory with practice. Students gained deeper insights into tourist behavior, travel challenges, and service expectations. Their interactions emphasized the importance of communication, empathy, and sustainable practices in tourism management.
