Executive Education Programme between IMI Switzerland and Bangkok University
Bangkok, Thailand, 27th May 2026 — As part of its commitment to supporting professional development and international collaboration, members of the PATA Thailand Bangkok University Student Chapter volunteered as event staff for the Executive Education Programme jointly organised by the International Management Institute Switzerland (IMI) and Bangkok University on 27 May 2026. The programme brought together international participants to explore emerging trends, innovation, and global perspectives in the hospitality and tourism industry. By serving as volunteers, chapter members had the opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of an international executive education programme while gaining valuable practical experience in event operations and hospitality service.
Programme Overview
The Executive Education Programme featured a series of educational and networking activities designed to provide participants with insights into current developments in hospitality and tourism. Through expert-led sessions and interactive experiences, participants explored innovative approaches shaping the future of the industry while strengthening international connections between academia and tourism professionals.
As volunteer staff, members of the PATA Thailand Bangkok University Student Chapter supported the on-campus programme at Bangkok University by assisting with participant registration, welcoming guests upon arrival, providing information and directions, and helping coordinate activities throughout the event. These responsibilities contributed to creating a professional, organised, and welcoming environment for both participants and organisers.
Programme Activities
During the programme, participants attended keynote sessions covering current topics in the hospitality and tourism industry, including AI-driven innovation in food and beverage services and the role of community engagement in creating distinctive tourism experiences. The programme also included a certificate presentation ceremony, recognising participants for completing the executive education programme, followed by a campus tour of Bangkok University, where guests learned more about the university’s facilities, learning environment, and hospitality education programmes. After completing the on-campus activities, participants continued their itinerary with a visit to NEXTOPIA at Siam Paragon, where they explored innovative technologies and immersive experiences that demonstrate the growing role of digital innovation in tourism and visitor experiences.
Learning Outcomes and Impact
Volunteering for the Executive Education Programme provided members of the PATA Thailand Bangkok University Student Chapter with valuable hands-on experience in supporting the organisation of an international academic programme. By working closely with participants from different countries and backgrounds, members strengthened essential professional skills, including communication, teamwork, adaptability, problem-solving, customer service, and event coordination.
