Experiential Tourism & Heritage Storytelling
Punjab, India, 13–15 November 2025 – PATA India Chandigarh University Student Chapter organized a three-day certificate course titled “Experiential Tourism & Heritage Storytelling” at UITHM, Chandigarh University, led by Mr. Sachin Bansal, Founder of India City Walks.
Overview
The certification course aimed to enhance students’ understanding of experiential tourism, meaningful storytelling, and the entrepreneurial skills required in the evolving tourism industry. Over three days, students explored how tourism is shifting from simple sightseeing to immersive and culturally rooted experiences.
Speaker
Mr. Sachin Bansal, Founder of India City Walks, brought his rich experience in experiential and cultural tourism. He guided students on how storytelling, empathy, and creative design contribute to impactful travel experiences.
Highlights of the Session
Day 1 – Experiential Tourism Concepts
Students were introduced to the shift from movement to meaning in tourism, learning how immersive, local, and rooted travel experiences are shaping the future of tourism.
Day 2 – Entrepreneurship & Storytelling
The session covered developing an entrepreneurial mindset, the five pillars of tourism practice (empathy, storytelling, operational clarity, financial literacy, adaptability), regenerative travel, and creative experience design.
Day 3 – Certification Ceremony
The final day included the distribution of certificates to all participants and a concluding interactive session on experience-driven tourism.
Daily Online Quiz: An online quiz competition was conducted every day to reinforce learning and keep students engaged.
Daily Interactive Discussions: Students interacted with Mr. Sachin Bansal every day, asking questions about storytelling, heritage interpretation, tourism entrepreneurship, and designing meaningful experiences.
Participation:
The certification course witnessed active participation from students across the tourism and hospitality departments. Their enthusiasm, engagement in daily quizzes, and thoughtful questions during the discussions added great value to the learning experience.
Conclusion:
The “Experiential Tourism & Heritage Storytelling” course successfully deepened students’ understanding of experience-driven tourism and strengthened their creative and entrepreneurial thinking. The three-day event provided meaningful learning, inspiring students to approach tourism with innovation and cultural sensitivity.
SUCCESS METRICS
The certification course achieved high engagement through daily quizzes, continuous interactive discussions, and strong student participation. It enhanced students’ storytelling skills, cultural understanding, and interest in experiential tourism.
