The session drew active student participation and focused on the importance of embracing diversity, understanding equity, and promoting inclusion in the tourism industry and beyond.

The interactive session emphasized key concepts such as the Golden Rule vs. the Platinum Rule, recognizing personal and social identities, and exploring conscious and unconscious biases. Discussions also tackled themes of tokenism, identity-based assumptions, and how individual backgrounds impact behavior in travel and professional environments. Through breakout discussions using the “Identity Wheel,” participants reflected on their own identities and biases, making the workshop a meaningful step toward fostering a more empathetic and inclusive future in the global travel space.
