Welcome Party For 25/26 Term
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 9 September 2025 - The PATA Malaysia HELP University Student Chapter successfully organized a Welcome Party to mark the beginning of the 2025/2026 term. The event was held at one of the School of Hospitality and Tourism’s classrooms, providing a warm and casual setting for both members and guests.
The purpose of this event was to reconnect with existing members, welcome new ones, and introduce the PATA Student Chapter to non-members. Lecturers from the department and a few invited students who are not yet members also joined, making the event more meaningful and inclusive.
The program began with a group photo session with lecturers and members to commemorate the occasion. After that, participants enjoyed light refreshments, including pizza, mooncakes, snacks, and drinks, which created a relaxed atmosphere for interaction.
To further build connections, the committee conducted a self-introduction session where each participant introduced themselves, shared their background, and expressed what they hoped to gain from joining PATA. This helped break the ice and created a friendly environment for networking.
The event then moved to a sharing of experiences, where senior members and lecturers reflected on their past involvement with PATA activities, highlighting the opportunities the chapter provides such as leadership skills, networking with industry professionals, and exposure to international tourism events. Their stories motivated newer members to engage actively and see the long-term benefits of participation.
Finally, the committee facilitated a discussion on upcoming activity plans for the semester. Members exchanged ideas for workshops, industry talks, educational trips, and volunteer initiatives that align with PATA’s vision. This collaborative discussion encouraged everyone to contribute their thoughts and take ownership of future activities, strengthening teamwork and commitment within the chapter.
Overall, the Welcome Party achieved its goal of strengthening member relationships, fostering engagement, and promoting awareness of PATA among the student community. It set a positive tone for the upcoming term and built excitement for the activities ahead.
