Internship Sharing Session to Support Student Career Development

Pathum Thani, Thailand, 6 September 2025 – Members of the PATA Thailand Bangkok University Student Chapter organised Internship Journey: From Sharing to Shaping, held on 6 September 2025 at the C6 Auditorium, Bangkok University International (BUI). The event was designed to bring together students who had completed their internships and to support preparation for the upcoming Internship II period.

Event Description

The Internship Journey: From Sharing to Shaping event served as a platform for fourth-year International Tourism and Hospitality Management (ITHM) students to share and reflect on their internship experiences, which took place between May and August 2025. The event welcomed students who had completed internships both in Thailand and overseas, allowing participants to learn from a variety of professional environments and roles.

The session began with guidance from Ajarn Karnchana and Ajarn Thawit, who provided an overview of internship requirements, expectations, and evaluation criteria. They also shared advice on how students could apply lessons learned from Internship I to future academic planning and professional development, particularly in preparation for Internship II scheduled for January 2026.

Following the briefing, students who had completed internships in Hong Kong, China, and Vietnam shared their experiences, followed by students who interned in Thailand. The sharing sessions covered daily work responsibilities, skills developed in the workplace, challenges encountered during internships, and ways students adapted to professional environments. Some students also shared experiences from internships with professional associations and non-governmental organisations, including Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), offering additional perspectives.

A question-and-answer session followed, allowing participants to ask questions directly to instructors and senior students. This segment helped clarify concerns related to internship placements, workplace expectations, and preparation for future professional roles. The event concluded with closing remarks and a group photo session, marking the end of the programme.Event Documentation
