PolyU Students at PATA Travel Mart & Youth Symposium 2025
Bangkok, Thailand, 24 - 29 August 2025 - The PATA Hong Kong SHTM Student Chapter is excited to announce its participation in the PATA Travel Mart & Youth Symposium 2025, which will take place from August 25 to August 28, 2025, in the vibrant city of Bangkok, Thailand. This annual event gathers tourism leaders, students, and industry experts to explore current trends and foster meaningful connections within the travel and tourism sector.
As proud student volunteers, five members from our chapter will engage directly in various volunteer duties, assisting with the seamless operation of the PATA Travel Mart while also participating in the PATA Youth Symposium 2025. This year’s theme focuses on equipping students with the necessary tools and mindset to thrive in an ever-evolving industry.
Our volunteers will have the opportunity to be involved in a range of tasks, including supporting the paging office and conducting surveys as ushers, thus facilitating productive discussions and gathering valuable insights from attendees. Upon arrival in Bangkok on August 24, our team will commence with essential preparations for an enriching experience.
The PATA Youth Symposium, scheduled for August 25, offers our members the chance to engage with key industry figures and gain insights into the future of tourism. Following this, our volunteer activities at the PATA Travel Mart will continue from August 26 to August 28, culminating in significant networking opportunities, including involvement in the prestigious PATA Power of Networking.

“A particularly memorable moment occurred during a workshop hosted by a local exhibitor, where we crafted our own traditional fans and shared insights about local food, art, and culture. That hour of creating and chatting together perfectly captured what tourism means to me and allowed me to feel the unifying spirit of tourism—where people meet, share stories, and inspire one another through cultural exchange. This trip was more than just attending an event; it was a pivotal learning experience that directly connects to my studies and career aspirations. The practical skills I gained and the professional network I began to build are invaluable assets that I could not have acquired in the classroom.” (Ms. Wendy Liu)

“At the PATA Travel Mart 2025, I served as a volunteer, primarily assigned to the guiding and survey team, where I assisted the organizers in collecting feedback from attendees regarding their experiences. Considering the presence of many Chinese speakers at the event, I took the initiative to translate for at least twenty participants, facilitating their communication with the organizers and enhancing the overall service efficiency. I felt honored to contribute to PATA Travel Mart in this way.” (Ms. Lessing Yin)
This event serves as a unique platform for our members to gain hands-on experience in the tourism industry, meet industry leaders, and cultivate essential skills for their future careers. We are eager to embrace the opportunities that lie ahead and look forward to sharing our experiences upon our return.
