Punjab, India, 26 September 2025 – PATA India Chandigarh University Student Chapter organized a Walkathon titled “Tour de Steps and Beats” on the university campus to promote the message of Sustainable Tourism and Responsible Travel.

Overview

The “Tour de Steps and Beats” Walkathon was organized to spread awareness about the importance of sustainability in tourism and encourage responsible travel practices among students. The event brought together participants from various departments of Chandigarh University, uniting them under a common cause — to walk for the planet and for a more sustainable future in tourism. The event concluded with a lively Flashmob, where students showcased their creativity and energy through dance, rap, and other engaging performances.

 
 

Highlights of the Session

• Walkathon Kickoff: The event began with an enthusiastic gathering of students on campus, carrying banners and placards promoting the theme of sustainable tourism. The participants walked together, spreading messages about eco-conscious travel and environmental conservation.

•  Theme: The walkathon focused on “Sustainable Tourism and Responsible Travel,” emphasizing how small steps can make a big difference in preserving our planet for future generations.

•   Flashmob Performance: After the walkathon concluded, students performed an energetic Flashmob featuring dances, raps, and creative acts that captured the spirit of unity, sustainability, and youth empowerment.

•   Student Involvement: The event saw enthusiastic participation from students across various departments who contributed through performances, organization, and coordination.

•   Media Coverage: The media team documented the entire event, capturing the walkathon highlights and flashmob moments filled with excitement and energy.

 
 

 Participation

The event witnessed vibrant participation from students across different disciplines, reflecting their enthusiasm toward promoting sustainability. The lively flashmob at the end of the walkathon added a cultural and youthful touch to the cause, engaging both participants and spectators. The collaborative effort of PATA ICUSC members made the event a memorable experience that combined purpose with fun.
