The PATA team will be attending and speaking in a lot of events and conferences in October! Come say hi to us if you join any of the events below. 

Oct 8 – 9: PATA CEO Mario Hardy will be attending and speaking at the MIST Forum in Bangkok, Thailand, while Graham Harper, Director – Sustainability and Social Responsibility, PATA, will be the judge and speaker.

The MIST Forum is an interactive event integrating the final pitches of the MIST 2019 program as well as a half-day Travel Startups Asia Conference with presentations and panel discussions by leaders and innovators in the travel start-up realm. It has been created for anyone interested in the startup environment in tourism, entrepreneurship as well as the future of travel in the Greater Mekong Subregion.

Oct 10: PATA CEO Mario Hardy and PATA staff will be attending the Asia Pacific Tourism trends & Outlook at Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit in Bangkok, Thailand.

Organised by PATA in partnership with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), ADARA and the Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit, this event aims to provide policymakers, senior officials, researchers and industry representatives with access to high-level insights into both local and regional trends.

Oct 13 – 15: PATA CEO Mario Hardy and Graham Harper, Director – Sustainability and Social Responsibility, PATA will be attending the Global Tourism Economy Forum 2019. They will participating in the panel discussion: Travel Lab Asia: Challenge and Opportunities of Bringing Tourism Sustainable Technology to Asia Pacific in Macau. 

As an international exchange platform, Global Tourism Economy Forum (GTEF) promotes sustainable development of the global tourism industry with a focus on China. GTEF engages public and private sector stakeholders from around the world in high-level exchanges on timely and thought-provoking subjects. The Forum also creates extensive and rewarding opportunities for tourism promotion, investment and cooperation.

Oct 15: Bo Wu, Regional Director of Greater China Region, will be speaking about “Brands & PATA Map plus its influence” on the conference of township development in Anren, Sichuan Province, China, hosted by China Tourism Group & Qujiang Investment Group. 

Oct 16-17: Roong Tepkaew Manager – Membership Engagement and Pawinee Angkanarak (Aom) Executive – Membership Relations (Asia) will be attending ITB Asia in Singapore. Oct 17-19: Trevor Weltman, Chief of Staff and Prapon Kongsiripipat, Manager – Strategic Intelligence Centre will be attending the 13th UNWTO/PATA Forum on Tourism Trends and Outlook in Guilin, China. 

The Guilin Forum provides an annual Pan-Asia-Pacific platform for policy makers, senior officials, researchers and industry representatives to take stock of global & regional trends and to better understand their potential impacts on tourism. The event, under the joint umbrella of the UNWTO and PATA, will allow participants to share information, analyse the current tourism situation and map out the next course of action for the future.

Oct 22 – 24: PATA CEO Mario Hardy will be attending and speaking at the World Tourism Exchange (WTE) in Haikou, Hainan Island, China.

Oct 23-26: Sarudha Netsawang, Director – Membership Relations, and Weihan Xu, Manager – Membership Relations, will be attending the World MICE Day 2019 in Qingdao, China. Sarudha will be giving a speech on Oct 25th, with the topic Trends in MICE Industry.

World MICE Day is the premier platform for the inbound and outbound MICE industry around the globe, taking place 24-26 October 2019 at Qingdao, China. WMD-2019 will invite well-known entrepreneurs, training experts and related professionals from MICE industry to share ideas, successful stories, and guide attendees from domestic and overseas through our unique training events and face-to-face meetings.

Oct 24: PATA Vice Chairman Soon Hwa Wong will be attending and taking part in a panel discussion – the Ministerial Round Table 2019 under the theme: Community Vitalization: People and Culture – at Tourism Expo Japan 2019 in Osaka, Japan. 

Oct 27 – 29, PATA CEO Mario Hardy will be attending the Annual Conference of International Mountain Tourism Alliance in Guiyang, China. 

Against the backdrop of globalization, themes like ecology, green, environment, poverty reduction and innovation are all centered on sustainable development, and are also the major concerns of the world tourism and the sustainable development of mountain tourism. The forum, with issues emerged from the new age taken into consideration, gathers the concepts and wisdom of International organizations, IMTA members, famous experts, KOLs and elite entrepreneurs, to probe into the practical problems and future directions of mountain tourism.

Oct 31: PATA CEO Mario Hardy will be attending the Sojern Round Table Discussion at the PATA Engagement Hub, PATA Headquarter, Bangkok, Thailand

Oct 31: Graham Harper, Director- Sustainability and Social Responsibility, PATA will be delivering closing remarks at the ASSET-H&C – Conference on Responsible Business in Tourism and Hospitality in Yangon, Myanmar.

ASSET-H&C is a unique network of innovative vocational training centers that promote the social and economic inclusion of vulnerable people in Southeast Asia, through training and professional integration in hospitality and catering sectors. This association, created in 2016 by IECD and winner of PATA Grand Award 2019, currently gathers 14 schools across Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.
