New Official Polo Shirt Designed by Members is Unveiled

Subang Jaya, Malaysia, 30th June 2025 – PATA Malaysia Taylor's Student Chapter (PATA MTSC) concluded its Polo Shirt Design Competition on 30th June 2025, with general member Noreen Aretha named the winning designer. The competition produced the official polo shirt now worn by PATA MTSC members at chapter events.

The Polo Shirt Design Competition was launched on 19th June 2025 during the chapter's Welcome to PATA MTSC! event, inviting all members to design the official polo shirt that would represent the chapter at its activities. Submissions were accepted through a Canva template, with participants asked to design the front, back, and sleeves of the polo shirt while incorporating PATA MTSC, Taylor's University, and School of Hospitality, Tourism and Events branding. The winner received 8 immersion hours, and all participants received 5 immersion hours for taking part.

A total of 11 PATA MTSC members submitted designs by the deadline. The Management Committee for Term 25/26 shortlisted the top three submissions, which were then individually evaluated by committee members across five criteria: creativity, relevance, clarity, aesthetics, and originality. Following the evaluation, PATA MTSC general member Noreen Aretha was selected as the winning designer.

The winning design draws on Malaysian national identity, featuring four illustrated panels on the back of the polo shirt. These include the Malayan tiger, Malaysia's national animal symbolising strength and courage, and the Malayan sun bear, the official mascot for Visit Malaysia 2026 representing the country's commitment to wildlife conservation and biodiversity. The design also incorporates the Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, known locally as Bunga Raya, whose five petals reflect the five principles of the Rukun Negara, and the durian, widely regarded as the king of fruits and a symbol of national pride. The front of the polo shirt carries the PATA MTSC logo, while the sleeves feature the Taylor's University and School of Hospitality, Tourism and Events logos.

Following the announcement of the winning design, final adjustments and production preparation were carried out by President Abdulla Iyaan Ahmed and Head of Marketing Maria Belicia. The polo shirt is produced in two colour variants, with black assigned to Management Committee members and navy blue assigned to general members. The polo shirt is now formally worn by PATA MTSC members during chapter events, giving the chapter a unified and recognisable presence on and off campus. The competition reflects PATA MTSC's commitment to member engagement and creative learning in line with SDG 4 on Quality Education.

PATA MTSC thanks all 11 participants for their submissions, congratulates Noreen Aretha on the winning design, and acknowledges the contributions of the Management Committee in finalising and bringing the polo shirt into use. The chapter looks forward to wearing the new polo shirt as a visible representation of its identity at upcoming events and activities.
