Online Student Talk Series: Travel Smart as a Student: The Student’s Travel Survival Guide
Subang Jaya, Malaysia, 22nd June 2026- PATA Malaysia Taylor’s Student Chapter (MTSC) successfully hosted an online student talk, "Travel Smart as a Student: The Student's Travel Survival Guide”. The event aimed to equip student with practical travel knowledge and inspire them to travel confidently, responsibly and within their budget through peer- to- peer learning.
The one-hour online session highlights with two speakers, Angelina Lau and Selma Alika. They shared their personal travel experience and practical advice on travel preparation, budget planning, transport tips and common travel mistakes to avoid. Through authentic storytelling and real- life example where participant able to gained valuable insights into planning affordable trips while making informed travel decisions.

The Student Talk Series also welcomed MR. Nantha Gopal A/L Muniandy as the event advisor. Based on his professional experience, he provided constructive feedback on the topics discussed after the speakers’ presentation. He further enriched the talk by addressing participants questions during Q&A session with practical advice and encouraging student to make sustainable and responsible travel choices.

The event provided an interactive platform where participants engaged actively during the sharing sessions and Q&A discuss. The student talk series created a meaningful learning environment that encouraged student to explore the word confidently and responsibly due to the combination of student’s real experience and professional additional information.
The event supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education. It helps to promote knowledge sharing and experiential learning among student. The student talk also contributes SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and production by encouraging responsible travel choices and respect for local communities and cultures. The events were attended by 30 participants. Through the sharing sessions and interactive Q&A, participants gained practical knowledge on travel preparation, budget planning, transportation tips, common travel mistakes.
