PATA Malaysia Taylor’s Student Chapter: New Management Committee Elected for Term 26/27 

Subang Jaya, Malaysia, 8th May 2026 – PATA Malaysia Taylor's Student Chapter (PATA MTSC) conducted its Term 26/27 leadership election on 8th May 2026 at Taylor's University, Subang Jaya. Thirty seven members gathered to elect the chapter's new Management Committee under a revamped organisational structure. 

The election was held at the Tourism Innovation Lab D1.02, Taylor's University, and was moderated by outgoing President Abdulla Iyaan Ahmed, who oversaw the voting process and facilitated the formal handover of leadership to the incoming committee. The session was also attended by the chapter's faculty advisor, Dr. Thanam Subramaniam of the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Events. 

For Term 26/27, the chapter introduced a revamped organisational structure designed to strengthen its operations and create clearer pathways for member involvement. The committee was expanded to 16 positions, comprising the executive roles of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, alongside six portfolios each led by a Director and supported by an Assistant Director. Each candidate delivered a speech outlining their goals and plans for the role they were contesting, after which members cast their votes through a physical voting process to determine the composition of the new committee. 

The newly elected Management Committee for Term 26/27 comprises 16 members:

  • Treasurer: Ismail Riyash 

  • Director of Travel: Syeda Elham Jafari 

  • Assistant Director of Travel: Evan Ng 

  • Director of Recruitment: Vivian Liew 

  • Assistant Director of Recruitment: Saya Kiyuna 

  • Director of Events: Hor Wen Qi (Jess) 

  • Assistant Director of Events: Muhammad Hatim Ishak 

  • Director of Marketing: Qilla Pandang Nathania 

  • Assistant Director of Marketing: Abdulrahman Hathal 

  • Director of Publications: Maria Belicia 

  • Assistant Director of Publications: Zhou Jinxi 

  • Director of Partnerships: Hala Alamri 

  • Assistant Director of Partnerships: Allan Annamyradow 

In addition to the new committee, PATA MTSC also welcomes Ms. Lazey Doma Bhutia of the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Events as the chapter's new Lecturer Advisor for Term 26/27. She will work alongside the Management Committee to guide the chapter's activities and initiatives throughout the coming term. 

Following the election, members gathered for a group photo session at the Tourism Innovation Lab to mark the close of Term 25/26 and the beginning of Term 26/27. 

With its new committee in place, PATA MTSC is set to begin Term 26/27 with a clear focus on delivering events and initiatives that develop its members as future tourism professionals and advance the values of sustainable and responsible tourism championed by PATA. The chapter thanks all members who participated in the election and welcomes the contributions of the new leadership team.
