PATA Malaysia Taylor's Student Chapter Welcomes PATA Macau Chapter Student Club to Taylor's University
Subang Jaya, Malaysia, 18th December 2025 – PATA Malaysia Taylor's Student Chapter (PATA MTSC) welcomed the PATA Macau Chapter Student Club (PATA MCSC) to Taylor's University on 18th December 2025 for a day of knowledge exchange, presentations, and campus engagement between the two student chapters.
The visit was held at Lecture Theatre 13, Taylor's University, and brought together 10 members from PATA MCSC, 24 members from PATA MTSC, and Dr. Thanam Subramaniam, the chapter's faculty advisor from the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Events. The session served as a platform for both chapters to share their structure, initiatives, and student experiences, with the aim of strengthening regional ties between PATA student chapters in the Asia Pacific.
The programme opened with welcome remarks followed by an ice breaker activity that paired members from both chapters for introductions and conversation. President Abdulla Iyaan Ahmed delivered a presentation on PATA MTSC, covering the chapter's history, vision, structure, and key events from Term 25/26. A representative from PATA MCSC then presented on their chapter's activities, leadership model, and student engagement initiatives in Macau.
Following the presentations, PATA MTSC presented souvenirs to PATA MCSC on behalf of Tourism Malaysia and the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Events at Taylor's University, and PATA MCSC reciprocated with gifts of their own. Physical certificates of participation were awarded to all PATA MCSC delegates, while electronic certificates were issued to PATA MTSC members in attendance. The PATA MCSC delegation was then taken on a guided tour of the Taylor's University campus before proceeding to a sponsored lunch at Tangerine Restaurant and Deck DG.02, funded by PATA MTSC using revenue generated from its events during Term 25/26.
The visit brought together 35 participants in total and gave members of both chapters direct exposure to how PATA student chapters operate across different regions. Beyond the presentations, the day created lasting connections between Malaysian and Macanese tourism students and demonstrated the value of cross border collaboration within the PATA network. The visit reflects PATA MTSC's commitment to SDG 4 on Quality Education and SDG 17 on Partnerships for the Goals, and was made possible with the continued support of PATA Malaysia Chapter and Tourism Malaysia in nurturing youth development and regional collaboration in tourism.
PATA MTSC extends its gratitude to PATA MCSC for making the journey to Taylor's University, to PATA Malaysia Chapter and Tourism Malaysia for their ongoing support, and to Dr. Thanam Subramaniam for her guidance throughout the visit. The chapter looks forward to continued collaboration with PATA MCSC and other student chapters across the Asia Pacific region.
